The bloody war story
After Stan Italy founded the country of Italistan back in 1762, he helped the country begin to thrive by secretly importing goods from other countries. The native people of Italistan were afraid of Stan at first, but then realized what a great man he was and accepted him as one of them. The natives of Italistan were so grateful for this. They declared him the first leader of Italistan in 1764 and named the country Italistan in honor of him. He soon created a form of government, transportation, education, healthcare system and many more for the country. In 1768, he was voted president by the people of Italistan. The country was becoming one of the most successful countries in the world.
Stan was a tall, intelligent man. He was wise on the battlefield, and even wiser with money. This made him a very rich man. He was confident, strong, and showed no mercy in battle. He created an army of the best native hunters in the land. By 1770, this army became very powerful and Italistan was beginning to thrive.
“This country has become very strong!” said Stan to his war leader and his bodyguard Ojibwu Ewulu.
“Yes, I fully agree with you sir. You have turned this country into a great and powerful land,” he replied.
Italistan’s thriving country was starting to make the leaders of the small, nearby country of Flannel Island jealous. Since Manu Manu, the leader of Flannel Island who was skilled in making flannels, was banned from Italistan by the natives along with many other people, he was envious that Italistan was suddenly successful. Flannel Island suddenly stopped communicating with Italistan, and Stan thought nothing of this.
Unfortunately for him, Flannel Island had been planning a secret attack for revenge. Three months later, a multitude of boats came towards Italistan. Italistan was not prepared and the capital was about to be taken over. Luckily for Stan and his warriors, they were in the lowlands training like they do one week every month.
“Manu Manu has come back!” yelled Ojibwu with fear to Stan.
“We must do something about it. Get our archer towers to their positions on the beach and ready our troops for support.”
The troops from needed to act and quickly. The boats were coming and so were multiple boats. The native archers started firing their arrows at the boats that were incoming at rapid speed. The archers were not acting fast enough. The boats had definitely come prepared. The archers were firing arrows left and right, but their were must too many troops to fight. The boats had reached land and had taken down the archer towers and killed the archers. The troops then reached land.
“Do something troops! The people of Flannel Island are incoming!” yelled Stan.
The troops did all that they could, but the Flannel Island people just had too many troops. They had gotten past the main troops and then Stan had to act swiftly.
“Pull back, pull back! Assemble to the town hall!” yelled Stan.
Stan only had 63 of his 200 men left. His army was slowly falling apart. He thought there was no hope left, but he knew he needed to keep fighting. Stan had had one last trick up his sleeve. He was plotting to attack Manu Manu and his warriors at Italistan City. Stan gathered all the people he could find at the town hall.
Stand said to his people in the town hall, “My people, the warriors of Flannel Island will soon take our country over if we do not get more people to fight back. I need all the men and teenage boys to prepare for battle. In three nights, I plan to attack Manu Manu in our capital at night while they are not prepared. We have enough axes and shovels from the coal mines here. I cannot guarantee that everyone will come back alive, but I can guarantee that we will win this war.”
Everyone shouted and all the men prepared for the final battle. This was where everything would go down.
On the third day all the warriors went down to the capital. They walked and while the tribal drums rang in the night sky. As they came closer, everything went silent. The warriors quietly walked into the capital with all their knives, swords, axes, and shovels. There were very few lights around the capital. At dawn, all hid for an ambust. Then, Stan signaled the attack. Manu Manu was not prepared. Most of the warriors were asleep. The battle went on for under a day. The warriors of Italistan were dominating. They quickly captured Manu Manu and killed most of his warriors as the rest retreated on the boats.
The troops of Italistan had given it all they had and ended up winning the battle. Most of the men of both countries had died, though. The people of Italistan were so happy and excited to win. Stan had decided not to kill Manu Manu, but instead, he held him as a prisoner. Stan decided to have Manu Manu work in the mines, which started the mining tradition of Italistan. The war fought between these two countries will never be forgotten because 7,281 men and teenage boys lost their lives or were never found from Italistan alone. Total, 19,724 men were killed or never found. In honor of the soldiers lost on this day, Italistan honors this day on August 17 every year. This holiday is called Soldier Day. This battle has gone down in history as the Bloody War.
